Mr. A.B.M. Badrud Doulah, a senior lawyer and holding
post-graduate degrees in Laws and Education, founded the
firm in 1965 under the name "Doulah & Doulah" with the
assistance of his father the Late Mr. M. A. Rahman, who was
formerly an Assistant Editor of The Hindustan Times, New
Delhi. In 1973 he was joined in partnership by his younger
brother Mr. A.B.M. Shamsud Doulah.
Although the firm started as a general civil law firm, it
expanded with specialization in the areas of shipping,
banking, investment and commercial and general civil law
practice. In addition, at present, the firm renders wide
range of legal services, including confidential intelligence
reports and lobbying.
The firm has several lawyers with varied expertise and
experience and associates. The firm is accredited as a
project consultant to the Ministry of Law of the Government
of the People's Republic of Bangladesh and a project
consultant to various international organizations like World
Bank, USAID etc.
The firm commenced professional services in Dhaka, the
administrative capital of Bangladesh, and the registered
head office of the firm is situated in the capital city of
Dhaka. A branch office was later established in the port
city of Chittagong. At present the firm comprises of eleven
professionals and twenty associates. |
